Hello, Nighthawk Nation!

I am from the mountains of North Carolina. My passion for helping others encouraged me to pursue English and Secondary Education at UNC-Greensboro.  English was my subject of choice because I believe in the power of literacy and storytelling.

Currently, I live in Greensboro with my husband, who is also an English teacher. Since beginning my career with Guilford County Schools in 2014, I was honored to be named 2018 Teacher of the Year at Page High. I have become Nationally Board Certified in English Language Arts and College Board trained for AP Literature & Composition.​
